On-farm milling & mixing systems
Milled-grain rations and dry licks from the one plant — weighed, milled, mixed and bagged at high accuracy and high throughput, designed around your site.
Run a mostly-grain ration one day and a mineral-heavy dry lick the next — the same hoppers, scales and mixer handle both.
Every input is weighed by the system, so each batch is the same as the last — without slowing the plant down, and without wasting expensive ingredients.
We design the plant in 3D and agree the layout with you, then it's built, installed and commissioned by K&W.

Weighed, milled & mixed
Every ingredient has its own input — Smart Hopper, silo or oil pump — feeding shared mainline augers, with output to 1-tonne bulk bags or silos. The system weighs each ingredient in accurately, mills any grain and mixes the batch, then sends it out. Grain ration or dry lick — same plant, same recipe screen.
Galvanised hoppers for minerals, premix and additives, each on its own metered auger so small inclusions are dosed accurately.
Shared mainline augers carry every dry ingredient from the hoppers and silos to the mixer. Each bin is weighed individually, and the main ingredients are weighed into the mixer.
Grain silos plus 60° steep-cone silos for protein meals that don't flow like grain — fed straight into the plant by auger.
Screening and a magnet separator protect the mill. The German Multicracker disc mill gives a consistent crack at high throughput, with no heating of the grain.
An inclined mixer blends the batch, with oil injected in ratio for dust suppression, palatability and a better mix.
Finished ration goes to the bulk-bag fillers for 1-tonne bags, or to an output silo or feed wagon — your choice at design time.
Every ingredient is weighed in by the system against the recipe, and the sequence is the same every batch — whether it's tonnes of grain or kilos of minerals. Low-level sensors and drive fault monitoring stop the run and alert the operator before an off-spec batch is made.
Galvanised and stainless steel, off-the-shelf drives and motors, cable tray and wiring done properly — so a farm workshop can keep it running and K&W can support it for years.

Because it does two jobs most plants can't do together. A milled-grain ration is mostly grain with protein, minerals and premix added; a dry lick is mostly minerals and meals with little or no grain. The Hybrid Batching Plant runs both from the same hoppers, scales and mixer — at high accuracy and high throughput — and the recipes stay yours.
Design process
Every K&W plant starts as a 3D CAD model of your site — silos, shed, hoppers, augers and mixer laid out around your ration and your slab — so you can walk through the plant and change it before manufacturing starts.
What the design settles:

Your ingredients, daily tonnage, existing silos and the shed or slab you have in mind.
We model the plant on your site and walk you through it — and change it — before you commit.
Hoppers, frames, augers, mill, mixer and control cabinet are built and wired by K&W in Queensland.
Mechanical and electrical installation, calibration of every input and on-site operator training.
Ongoing support from the team that designed, built and programmed your plant.
Ask us about K&W premixes, booster and dry lick blends to run through your plant's Smart Hoppers — Simon Ward 0487 406 423.
Tell us about your rations, licks, tonnage and site and we'll design a Hybrid Batching Plant to suit — and show you what it could save.
